as absolute fantasy, math erao (they / she) has a flair for reconciling energies both ecstatic and melancholy into surreal sonic vignettes. healing & dealing brings together five new works of song and photograph that vividly trace a restorative wave of personal affirmation and self-determination. pronounced in her work, whether music, photography, writing, or graphic design, is a lifelong practice in culling the disparate as a means of exploring the stories laid gleaming upon their intersections. we welcome this chapter in math's journey as part of our own and are proud to introduce healing & dealing in her own words:

"my work, whether aural or visual, is about pulling together disparate elements and making them work. sounds i’ve recorded, images I’ve captured, half-finished songs and half-realized concepts. healing & dealing brings together five songs from 2018-2020 and five images from 2019-2020. the images are all from southern california, the songs a mix of those begun in central florida and southern california. following a collection of songs that i started in 2016 as i was working through my gender and sexuality while trying to tap into a new musical palette, this ep represents a second wave of exploration and discovery, one that found me more confident in my personal and artistic life. as with all of my endeavors, however, i still found myself unable to take one path. in the end, i decided to combine what i once considered the results of multiple projects under my existing absolute fantasy banner. in doing so, i realized all that was needed to unify them was my own intent."

healing & dealing is our first release on compact disc. each mail order comes with one of five photo prints, taken by math, corresponding to a track on the album.
