you were going to die, you were cycling call the ambulance and be born again you were going to die, said you couldn't feel the needle in your skin, you are born again you were going to die, you said you lost your way take off the mask and then you will be born again

stargazer 04:17
you know the name, it's all the same in the starlight and the moonlight you squint to see, the sky can't convene with the streetlight, with the skyline there is no pain, it's all the same in the starlight and the moonlight in the starlight and the moonlight
3.
dust 05:21
we don't have a home anymore spending long nights on a cold floor but the sun it shines just for us we are made of dust that sparkle in the light we are animals who learned to walk upright the sidewalk stretches just for us you don't need to speak your pain it shows let go of everything until you know the world was made just for us
4.
birdwatcher 02:15
i think i found a hobby watching birds around me songs they sing give me peace plumes of different colors to attract a lover they have a baby then they leave baby thinks it knows it all living in a tree so tall now it wants to learn to fly baby's headed to the ground and he takes a look around things are bigger than before then he falls into the leaves sees the worms he used to eat he doesn't want them anymore
5.
i was moving for no reason with eyes too small to see love at all and i heard you calling softly through the salty air there was nothing there i saw the sea the waves keep rolling never ceasing though they crash and break i will just take its space still you had to remind me it's hard to bear but there's nothing there i saw the sea enamored beggar, i am useless living from the scraps that you let me have but i'd rather be a peasant than a man that clings onto useless things i am free i was watching the sun setting it took its leave to the endless sea still you had to remind me a thing of beauty must always turn to dust i am free

about

a lot of songs have been written about the ocean and now my landlocked brain finally understands why. in those waves i saw beauty, chaos, nothing, infinity. it was overwhelming. we set off to make a nautical funeral of sorts or perhaps a celebration of all things eventually turning to sand.

a wabi-sabi beach album for the infinite ocean

a sharing of loss, of recovery, of overcoming, and becoming, 'i saw the sea' is a covenant with the orchestral nature of being. one of interdependence despite isolation, of growing with loss in the infinite experience of what is, of self-determined transformation.

mutual benefit is the sound project of jordan lee. andrew morehart is all over this album, katie pierce contributed violin, and bradley will mixed + mastered. album art by betty blue. cassette layout by noah klein. released by kassette klub in 2011 and rereleased by never content in 2017.
